Commissioned by a construction professional, H-Architects converted an old shop into a modern ground floor apartment. Thanks to a change of function and smart reorganization, a very pleasant apartment was created with just limited interventions.
The ground floor consisted of a small retail space with a kitchenette and a toilet. The beautiful city garden was not used at all.
On this beautiful location and considering there was a nice garden enclosed, an apartment was a more logical choice than a shop. The change also meant greater income for the property developer. The retail space was converted into a living space with an open kitchen. All kitchen appliances, extra built-in cupboards and even the washing machine were neatly incorporated. To make better use of the space, a wall was moved and the entrance hall got smaller.
There was no bathroom. The toilet and storage room next to it were merged into a compact bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet and sink.
On the side of the garden used a kitchenette and a room. These have been transformed into two bedrooms overlooking the garden. The master bedroom has access to the garden and terrace thanks to a sliding window.
